Youth Volunteers
Sharannya Vemulapalli
My name is Sharannya Vemulapalli and I’m in 9th grade. I enjoy reading and writing outside of school. I started helping with Access Braille because I have known Sudha Aunty since I was a kid and I always admired how she is always the first person to help others. When she reached out to me, I was excited to be part of it and create flyers so that it can reach the audience. It’s been a pleasure to watch and learn what Access Braille is doing.

Raghu Sai
My name is Raghu Sai and I am currently a freshman at UC Berkeley. I co-founded the Access Braille club at Clayton Valley Charter High School and have worked with Access Braille as a youth volunteer for many years. The club fundraises for the organization and spreads awareness about the challenges visually impaired children face in developing countries like India. I have been inspired to help Access Braille by many personal experiences, including my visit to the National Association for the Blind in India. There is an immense need for these organizations and people who are seeking to improve the lives of children around the world. I am grateful to be a part of Access Braille and hope to continue aiding its mission.
Vivek Bharati
My name is Vivek Bharati, and I will be entering UC Berkeley as a freshman. My first association with Access Braille was in 2011 when I was in 2nd grade. My brother Vikram and I recorded audio books for the Little Flower Convent For The Blind, in Chennai, India. During the summer of 2011, We visited the school representing Access Braille. This visit made a lasting impact on us and still remains as our strong motivation to help the visually impaired. In 2012, my brother started an Access Braille club in his middle school to record audio books while I raised funds for Access Braille through having a calendar sale of my artwork. Ever since, Vikram and I have organized multiple musical fundraisers to raise funds for the visually impaired for causes such as better access to education and jobs, getting computers for their college education, and replacing braille books and school supplies. We will continue to give back to the community by volunteering for Access Braille.
Sahana Narayan
My name is Sahana Narayan, and I am currently a senior. I enjoy music and writing and am a huge proponent for integrating service into the activities that we love. That is what first inspired me to learn about Access Braille’s mission. I’m so grateful to be a part of this organization that combines community, music, and education to help serve visually impaired communities around the world. I hope to continue helping advance this Access Braille’s mission!
